Tyler J. Kenefick is a dedicated and highly experienced attorney specializing in municipal litigation, criminal defense, and civil rights law. With a career spanning roles in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Kenefick brings a wealth of knowledge and a results-driven approach to Parker & O’Grady.

Tyler began his legal career in the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases, from narcotics possession to aggravated assault and firearms charges. Over the course of six years, he rose to the position of District Court Supervisor for the Westfield District Court, demonstrating his leadership and proficiency in managing high-stakes legal situations. During his time as a prosecutor, he handled everything from arraignments to jury trials and post-trial motions, building a reputation for excellence in the courtroom.

In 2022, Tyler transitioned to civil litigation, focusing on defending police misconduct cases and representing clients in wrongful conviction matters. As the First Associate City Solicitor for the City of Springfield, he became a key figure in civil rights litigation, continuing this work as an Associate City Solicitor for the City of Chicopee. Tyler’s role in Chicopee also includes serving as counsel to the city’s Licensing Commission and advising on code enforcement matters, further cementing his expertise in municipal law.

Tyler earned his Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Fluent in Spanish, he is able to effectively serve a wide range of clients, offering services in both English and Spanish.

In addition to his practice, Tyler is a published author, having co-authored chapters in A Practical Guide to Introducing Evidence in Massachusetts for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education series. He is also an active member of the Hampden County Bar Association, where he has previously served as Chair of the Criminal Law Section and on the Executive and Education Committees.
